Enty's Business Glossary:
Unicorn
Unicorn is a privately owned startup with a value of over $1 billion. So, when an IPO takes place, a startup is no longer privately held — no longer a unicorn. Unicorns are usually first-of-its-kind ground-breaking companies that discover a new market, use disruptive innovations, and attract funds rapidly. At the time, there are over 800 unicorns all over the world. The most famous unicorn examples are Stripe, SpaceX, Telegram, and Revolut.
