Unicorn is a privately owned
startup with a value of over $1 billion. So, when an IPO takes place, a startup is no more privately held — no more a unicorn. Unicorns are usually first-of-its-kind ground-breaking companies that discovered a new market, used disruptive innovations, and attracted funds rapidly. At the time, there are over 800 unicorns all over the world. The most famous unicorn examples are Stripe, SpaceX, Telegram, Revolut.
